Adventures led by women designed to make a difference.
Imagine a vacation that’s not only transformative for you but helps open doors for the local women you meet along the way. That’s what Intrepid’s new Women’s Expeditions in Peru, Cambodia and Bhutan are all about.
Designed specifically for women travellers, these trips offer immersive local experiences that support women-run and owned businesses in each destination. With an expert local leader out front, you could trek the lesser-known Chinchero to Urquillos route in the Peruvian Andes alongside an all-female crew, dive into Cambodia’s street food scene on a women-run tuk tuk tour, or unwind with a traditional herbal hot stone bath at a women-owned farmhouse in Bhutan.
First launched in 2018, Intrepid’s Women’s Expedition range is designed to break down barriers, foster discussion and create meaningful connections for travellers and locals alike.

Cleveland vs. Universe: Fireball Blazes at 45,000 MPH, Unleashes 250-Ton TNT Blast
Yet again, Cleveland is the center of the universe.
This time it occurred when a glowing fireball blazed over Lake Erie at 45,000 mph on Tuesday, before the 7-ton asteroid slammed through the atmosphere and exploded over Valley City.
It survived 34 miles of fiery friction before exploding above Valley City, unleashing energy like 250 tons of TNT.
In other words, 1/60th the power of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 – or 5.8 hours of a large hyperscale data center.
Fragments rained down as meteorites across the countryside—stony gifts from the void.
Fifteen years earlier, in 2011, a smaller fireball delivered a 49-gram meteorite to Wickliffe's quiet streets.
Tuesday’s visitor was louder, grander, a reminder that we are but one small place in the universe.
☄️ If you saw the fireball streak across the sky, your reaction would be:
From 1980 Pioneer to EVOO: Brad Friedlander Finally Brings Cleveland the Greek It’s Been Craving

Brad Friedlander has been steering the food scene long before there were foodies.
The restaurateur’s run goes back to 1980, with Lopez, in Cleveland Heights. He’s opened more than a dozen eateries since then.
Friedlander is part of their Cleveland Restaurant Management Group, which owns 17 restaurants in the area.
The group is strategic when it comes to restaurants: develop concepts that fill a void – his m.o. throughout his career.
His latest concept, EVOO, opens this month in Legacy Village.
“It’s a modern Greek-Mediterranean concept,” says Friedlander – with modern takes on Greek-Mediterranean concept.
It’s been a challenge to find Greek cuisine in Cleveland for years. It’s underrepresented and underappreciated.
EVOO, which takes its name from extra virgin oil, will include healthy, vegan options and focus on fresh and bold flavors in an upscale setting.

A sign of spring it was not. But some of the harshest conditions in decades didn’t stop the 184th Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day Parade from stepping of Superior Avenue.
Temperatures in 20s, wind chills in the teens, gusty winds up to 45 mph and snow made it the coldest parade in 42 years.
This year’s cold snap is part of a deep historical pattern going back to its debut in 1842.
But only twice in its history have cold – and blizzards cancelled the parade: 1967 and1976.
The worst weather came in 1959 – when a blizzard struck just before the scheduled start and dumped four inches of snow with 50–60 mph winds that cut visibility so badly police closed the Shoreway.
That year, the parade was postponed by one week – and the show went on, amid temperatures in the 20s.
Cleveland, you gotta be tough.
🥶 Would you still attend a parade in brutal weather?

March Madness Brackets Are a Joke — Hilarities Proves It with Local Laughs
March Madness brackets are a joke – and Hilarities has the proof.
The comedy club in Pickwick and Frolic on East Fourth is rolling out its take on March Madness – with four area comedians: Pope, Kevin Ford, Elijah Nevels, and John Bruton.
On Thursday, they’ll participate in a comedy spoof of the sporting event that transforms sports fans into maniacal gamblers.
No bets taken on this game – it’s a celebration of area talent and gags. Info.
