IN THE NEWS
Rasslin’ at the Rocket: Homecoming for WWE star Logan Paul

Logan Paul was a star wrestler at Westlake High School. He also loved to make short comedy skits and videos with friends.
He parlayed both passions into stardom. At 7 tonight, the WWE superstar and YouTube influencer is coming home when Friday Night Smackdown hits Rocket Arena.
Paul will join forces with Drew McIntyre to confront Randy Orton and country music star Jelly Roll in a face-off segment. More info.
Cleveland loves its wrestling.
A 2024 event at Cleveland Browns Stadium drew a record 57,591 fans. And the wrestling promotion’s popularity has resulted in it receiving $731,000 in Ohio tax credits for TV productions shot in the area.
Recreate your favorite movie goodbye at Hopkins

Love, a long goodbye, a trickling tear and a kiss. Countless movies have set dramatic final scenes in airports. In real life, it’s a different story – long security lines, frazzled crowds, overpriced coffee and bum WiFi.
Well, Cleveland Hopkins Airport is bringing romance back with the Hopkins Hangout Pass.
The new amenity allows friends and family to accompany travelers all the way to their gate – and, perhaps, recreate the endings of flicks like “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” “The Mexican,” “Casablanca,” “Love Actually” and “Crazy Rich Asians.” (Man, Hollywood loves this stuff.)
The pass launches on August 11. To apply, go here.
‘A Christmas Story’ in July… with Bumpus hounds?

Poor Santa – dude has to cart around town hitting all these Christmas in July parties. Here’s one worth donning a beard, suit and boots in the heat.
The House from ‘A Christmas Story’ is going all out for the summer celebration – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The iconic home in the 1983 iconic flick about a boy and his Red Ryder is bringing in actors and offering guided tours for the event. The APL will also be on hand for dog adoptions… Hmm, Bumpus hounds? Free. More info.
Ole! Raise a glass for Tequila Fest

A shot of tequila, then a taco, then a margarita – then do it all over again. Ole, it’s Cleveland’s biggest gathering of tequilas and the people who love them…
Raise a glass to Tequila Fest – 3-9 p.m. Saturday in Voinovich Park.
The bash pays tribute to the Mexican agave-based elixir by assembling more than 50 tequilas, food trucks, vendors, a margarita bar and bands. More info.

The 216 Rundown
Cleveland punk legends are back
Cleveland’s punk scene became legendary in the 1970s. But it didn’t stop there. In the ‘90s, the city produced two bands that parlayed irreverence and abandon into legend. Both are reuniting on Saturday to kick out the jams:
New Bomb Turks: The Cleveland-bred band hits the Beachland Ballroom. Their manic mix of revved-up guitars, bash-and-crash beats and vocal snot sounds like an auctioneer howling over a high-speed R&B party. 7 p.m. More info.
Face Value: Led by legendary punk troublemaker Tony Erba, the hardcore outfit hits No Fun. FV’s mix of hardcore, raw riffs, metal and thrash – and confrontational stage antics – is pure musical mayhem. More info.
Turn up the heat for a Latin dance party
It’s hot outside. It’ll be even hotter at Nuevo when TropicalCleveland hosts its summer Latin dance party. At 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Noche Tropical will roll out DJ Danny Vey & DJ Los spinning salsa, bachata, merengue and reggaeton. More info.
Glitter & glamor: Claws Out drag series hits Wizbang Theatre
Step right up, ladies and gents. The Wizbang Theatre in Cleveland Heights is bringing back Claws Out. The titillating monthly series features some of Cleveland’s most glittering and glamorous drag queens and kings – to go with inventive drinks is its Spirit Room Cocktail Bar. It opens tonight and runs through Dec. 19. 8 p.m. More info.

RIP, Hulk Hogan: He loved Cleveland and was set to debut new league here
Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea – the wrestling legend who spoke lovingly of Cleveland – has died from cardiac arrest. He was 71 years old.
“The Hulkster” was set to debut his latest endeavor -- Real American Freestyle, which he founded with Clevelander Chad Bronstein – at the Wolstein Center on August 30. The event is still listed as taking place, and tickets are still being sold.
“Cleveland is an incredible city, and RAF is channeling its rock and roll style into this first event,” said Hogan, when the event was announced.
In January, he came to town to party with fans during the rollout of his Real American Beer.
