IN THE NEWS
Cavs Defy 2% Odds for Biggest Win in Post-LeBron Era. Game 6 is Tonight!

Their odds of winning were 2% with 2:40 to go in the game.
Repeat, 2%.
But the Cavs fought on with the spirit of their old theme song – “Never surrender, no matter what odds” – en route to beating the Pistons in Game 4, 117-113.
It’s the biggest win in the post-LeBron era – and they’ll advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win tonight in Rocket Arena, 7 p.m.
We could talk about individuals that made clutch plays when they desperately needed them, but this was a team win:
They dived for loose balls and now lead the NBA by recovering 41in the playoffs.
They forced the Pistons to commit four shot clock violations in the fourth quarter – most by a team in a final quarter in the playoffs in the last five postseasons.
They had seven straight defensive stops from the three-minute mark to the end of the game.
They went on a 9-0 run to send the game into overtime – and held Detroit scoreless for the first two minutes in OT.
Historic win, against all odds.
🏀 What was the biggest factor in the Cavs' miraculous Game 5 comeback?
The Sun Rises in AsiaTown: 50,000 Expected at Cleveland Asian Festival
The sun rises on festival season, and it starts with the 17th annual Cleveland Asian Festival.
On Saturday and Sunday, the two-day bash will bring 50,000 people to AsiaTown to absorb the sounds, sights and tastes of the Asian community. Info.
It rolls out a wide array of music, performers and events, from acrobats and martial artists to K-pop dancers to cosplay to the Colors of Asia Fashion Exhibition.
Of course, there’s also food – lots of it.
The celebration – called one of the finest in the Midwest by Midwest Living – has played a key role in re-branding the neighborhood as one of the area's most vibrant dining districts and culturally unique destinations.
It’s a Pan-Asian collage of colors and flavors stocked with six markets, countless shops, three dozen eateries and bars.
For decades, the area was known as Chinatown – until 2007, when Cleveland officially changed the name to AsiaTown to reflect the growing diversity of the Asian population in the area.

People Power: Cleveland Kills $1.6B Data Center in Slavic Village

The people spoke. Cleveland listened.
The city has rejected a permit application to build a $1.6 billion, 300,000 square-foot data center on 35 acres in Slavic Village.
It would have consumed 150 megawatts of power per day, enough to supply about 100,000 homes.
Slavic Village residents protested the facility and had planned a townhall to air their grievances on May 23.
Mayor Justin Bibb already got an earful, after posting on Instagram:
“Look, as our city grows and technology changes, we’re going to keep seeing new kinds of development come our way,” he said.
He also promised ‘safeguards’ – but the backlash was swift and severe: 800 comments, almost all negative.
Seventy-one percent of Americans oppose having them in their neighborhoods, while only 7% are strongly in favor, according to Gallup.
Slavic Village activists celebrated the decision and are calling on Cleveland to pass a proposal that would impose a one-year moratorium on data centers.
⚡ Now that Cleveland rejected the Slavic Village data center, what's next?
