Artists, Performers… Wrestling? IngenuityFest Transforms Old Factory into Creative Playground

Since 2004, IngenuityFest has been the cornerstone of the city's cultural scene, fusing art, technology and heritage into a weekend of creativity and innovation.
Last year’s event drew 20,000 curious Clevelanders to Ingenuity Labs, located in a hulking reborn factory that exemplifies the festival’s spirit.
This year’s edition boasts a theme, ‘America Dreams,’ that’s as sprawling as the country itself.
The ‘Garden of Heroes’ exhibition rolls out live wrestling, musicians, aerial and acrobatic storytelling, and musicians…
Wait, wrestling?
Yup. There’s also the Drop it Flop it Circus – with cabaret performances, with juggling, dance, music, singing, and comedy.
“IngenuityFest has always been about bringing people together through creativity,” says Ingenuity board president Kristen Hoover Boutton.
Highlights:
NASA Glenn Research Center will host immersive experiences -- a lunar base, a drone mission to Titan, an Artemis simulation and virtual astronaut experiences.
Six stages with more than 50 musical acts, DJs and performers.
Interactive rooms where attendees absorb waves of sound and lights and interact with old- and new-tech activities.

New Ohio Bill Calls for FirstEnergy to Pay Customers for Loss of Power

A July blackout resulting from a heatwave turned blocks of Cleveland into an urban ghost town – and left much of the West Side in darkness.
Which added up to thousands of dollars lost for bars and restaurants.
In response, Ohio lawmakers have introduced the Ohio Power Outage Relief Act — which would require FirstEnergy’s Ohio to reimburse customers for losses after prolonged or repeated power outages.
Bill co-sponsor State Rep. Tristan Rader is from Lakewood, which was hit hard by the blackout.
More than 11,200 Cuyahoga County residents and over 70,000 FirstEnergy users lost power amid one of the worst heatwaves in years.
The bill would require:
Credits would equal $50 or the customer’s monthly utility charge.
They would be payable within 16, 36 and 72 hours – depending on the number of customers affected.
Customers could also seek reimbursement for spoiled food and medicine.

- ✅ Long overdue: businesses and residents lost thousands during the July blackout and someone has to be accountable
- 💰 The $50 credit structure is a start but it doesn't come close to covering what bars and restaurants actually lost
- 🏭 FirstEnergy needs financial consequences or nothing changes: fines and credits are the only language utilities understand
- 🤔 The real fix is grid infrastructure: credits are a band-aid on a century-old system running at critical levels

Hot Streak into Home Stretch. What Guards Must Do the Rest of the Way.
After a roller-coaster season, the Guardians have flipped the switch.
Last night’s win in Boston keeps them one game ahead of the White Sox in the Central Division after winning six in a row, eight of 10 and 21-9 since mid-August.
What next:
Two more games against Boston, and they face one Cy Young candidate Sonny Gray tonight -- tough match-up, which is why they needed to take Game 1.
Then three against the Royals, who have struggled and have nothing to play for.
The odds:
Winning four of the next five probably secures the Central… But the White Sox have an easier five games ahead – two at K.C. and three at home against the horrendous Rockies.
The magic number for the Wild Card is 2. Barring a collapse, they’re in the playoffs.
